Present Simple 2 (Lesson)

Course Description

In this lesson, you will focus on forming Present Simple questions and understanding subject-verb agreement. You will learn how to use "do" and "does" in questions, apply correct verb endings (-s, -es, -ies) for different subjects, and practice using the Present Simple to express thoughts, feelings, and opinions. Through simple explanations and examples, you will strengthen your ability to ask and answer questions naturally in everyday English conversations.

Learning Outcomes

We form Present Simple questions like this:

Singular

Do I/you like?

Does he/she/it like?

Plural

Do we like?

Do you like?

Do they like?

Remember that we put do before I/you/we/they: Do you speak French? Do you study well? Do they travel often?

However, we put does before he/she/it: Does he work on Saturdays? Does she play the piano? Does it snow here in winter?

We use the Present Simple:

to talk about thoughts:

I think it's going to rain.

She doen't understand her teacher.

to talk about feelings and opinions:

I love classical music. But I don't like pop music.

A student feels sick.
